Patriots from the Barrio Lecture and Book Signing Event Dave Gutierrez is the writer and author of the book Patriots from the Barrio, the true story of Company E 141st Infantry: a Mexican American Army unit in WWII. Over There 1918

On October 7, 1918, the newly created 36th Infantry Division entered combat for the first time as part of the French 4th Army, which was advancing on the left flank of the U.S. 1st Army during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.  Over the next 24 days the division would break the German lines near the village of St. Etienne and then pursue the enemy to Aisne River, where the 36th would smash a German bridgehead near Foret Farm.  On October 6-7, 2018…
