As Time Goes By- February 13, 2016- A 1940's Dinner Dance and Fundraiser to support the Texas Military Forces Museum Our annual 1940's dinner dance  will be held on Saturday February 13, 2016 starting at 6:30 pm.  Seating is limited to 250. The Texas Military Forces Museum will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the end of the Civil War with a special program -The Guns of 1863- at Camp Mabry on March 12-13.  Visitors will get a chance to get an up close and personal look at how soldiers on both sides lived during the war, as well as see firing demonstrations of some of the Civil War’s most famous weapons. Updated Schedule for Sunday due to weather concerns Muster Day traces it’s roots back to when Texas was still a republic. In the early days, on an annual basis, the troops were ‘mustered’ or called to report.  Over the years, the mustering of the troops became obsolete.
